
The SORRENTO is above the MTR Kowloon (Tung Chung line) station in Western Kowloon. One of the most prestigious residential developments in the area, it is situated a short distance from Kowloon’s core commercial center, Yau Tsim Mong district, and next to the West Kowloon station ( high-speed rail). The project was jointly developed by The Wharf (Holdings) Ltd. and Mass Transit Railway Corporation and designed by architects, Wong & Ouyang (HK) Ltd. Divided into 2 phases, a total of 5 luxury residential blocks, each of which exceed 200 meters in height, and 2,126 units were completed in 2002 and 2003 respectively. The residential floors start from either 8/F or 9/F, up to 67/F to 81/F. Most feature a view over the city. Some also look out onto the inner garden or Yau Ma Tei Typhoon Shelter. Phase 1 includes Towers 3, 5 and 6 (4 omitted) and have 8 units per floor with a saleable area of 620 sq.ft. to 973 sq.ft. Phase 2 includes Towers 1 and 2, which have from 6 to 8 units per floor with a saleable area of 870 sq.ft. to 2,010 sq.ft. The 8/F units feature a private flat roof while units on 55/F or above have balconies. The top floors of Tower 1 feature duplexes. The clubhouse on 6/F and 7/F provides a wide range of facilities such as an outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, gymnasium, tennis court, multi-purpose games hall, billiard room, squash court, garden platform, function room and children’s play area. A car park with 1,270 spaces is located on G/F to 5/F. In addition the ‘Elements’ shopping centre with nearly 1 million sq.ft of shops, restaurants and entertainment is attached.
