Stanley is a popular tourist site and can get very busy during peak seasons. Stanley has retained its old village charm and is primarily a self-contained community. Murray House is one of Hong Kong’s oldest surviving public buildings and was relocated from Central to its current position in Stanley. The Stanley International Dragon Boat Championship occurs at Stanley Main Beach around June yearly, with many corporate teams participating in the cultural sporting event.
