Tai Tam is found on the south side of Hong Kong Island, near Tai Tam Reservoir and Country Park. Its housing developments are relatively new, and consist mainly of large townhouses. Public transport is limited to buses only, but Tai Tam Road leads directly to Chai Wan, where the Island Line of the MTR runs regularly. Housing: Many properties in Tai Tam are part of townhouse developments, such as Le Palais or Cedar Drive on the Redhill Peninsula. High-rise apartment blocks include Pacific View on Tai Tam Road. Schools: Hong Kong International School’s middle and high school divisions are found on Red Hill Road. The school follows the American curriculum. International kindergartens, Tutor Time, Eton House and Woodland Montessori, are conveniently located in Red Hill Plaza. Highlights: Redhill Plaza contains a variety of shops, including a large supermarket. It is easily accessible on Red Hill Road. The American Club is one of Hong Kong’s largest private clubs, and has extensive dining, recreational and social facilities. It is located down the road from Pacific View, between Tai Tam & Stanley. Tai Tam Country Park is a popular hiking location with its large reservoir and numerous trails. Exceptional views of the city & Stanley can be experienced from the highest points on these trails. Turtle Cove is a small, sheltered beach located in Tai Tam. It is a quieter alternative to Repulse Bay or Deep Water Bay.
