About Sai Kung
Sai Kung District is comprised of the Clear Water Bay and Sai Kung peninsulas and the east coast of Kowloon. Historically a fishing village, Sai Kung Town has developed into a delightful mix of old and new, and has a very strong community feel. The area is best known for its tranquil environment, proximity to beautiful countryside hiking trails and ocean activities such as boating. It also boasts an increasing mix of restaurants and pubs set on the waterfront and within the village. A popular housing area for expats, Sai Kung is well serviced by buses and taxis, and is a 30-40 minute drive into Hong Kong’s central business district. For those living in Clear Water Bay, the Hang Hau MTR station is close by and makes for an easy commute to HK Island. Housing: Sai Kung offers 2 types of housing: low rise villa complexes (many also have shared facilities such as swimming pools) , or village houses which are standalone homes that often come with private gardens . Schools: Hong Kong Academy opened in Sai Kung in 2013, which has resulted in many more ex pats in the area There are several other international schools in easy distance eg AISHK and Kellett.
