For professionals, this is Hong Kong’s most popular neighborhood, located on the north side of the island and about halfway up the hill from Victoria Harbour. Mid-Levels boasts an impressive range of first-class amenities including restaurants, shopping outlets, international schools, hospitals, etc. Besides good public transportation, the area also boasts the landmark, half-mile long Mid-Levels Escalator, which carries residents up the mountain in the evening – and down in the morning. The district is traditionally divided into 3 main areas: West, Central and East, all of which are within close proximity of Central and Admiralty. Properties within these sub-sections vary greatly in terms of size and price.

Housing:
  • Housing in Mid-Levels Central consists of modern high rise buildings with views of Victoria Harbour and the area’s green surroundings, as well as older low-rise & mid-rise blocks towards the back of MacDonnell Road, Bowen Road & Magazine Gap Road.

Highlights:
  • Mid-Levels West is connected to Central by an 800m long escalator that runs downhill from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and uphill from 10:30 am to midnight.
  • The restaurants and nightlife of Soho and Lan Kwai Fong in Central are in close vicinity of Mid-Levels Central and West.
  • The Peak is easily accessible by various roads, trails and the Peak Tram.
  • The Zoological and Botanical Gardens is located opposite Government House in the heart of Mid-Levels Central, while Hong Kong Park is located above Pacific Place in Admiralty. Both venues offer shortcuts to key business districts, with green areas and a host of wildlife that can be viewed along the way.
  • St. John’s Cathedral on Garden Road is one of the oldest and most historical landmarks in Hong Kong. The site that it occupies is the only freehold land in Hong Kong.
  • Canossa Hospital and The Adventist are the most notable private hospitals in the district.
